SEPA xml Credit Transfer Files for Bunq B.V. Bank in the Netherlands

At SEPA XML GENERATOR we have countless customers throughout Europe which includes a fitness client in the Netherlands called ‘STRETCH & fold’ that utilises our software to pay their instructors.

The bank that STRETCH & fold uses is a Bunq B.V. which operates in 30 European Countries.  As usual the Bunq B.V. Bank has a slightly different format for credit transfers.

The feedback from the customer was:

“Overall I’m quite happy with the software, the only hassle is that for some reason my bank reads the payment type as the reference code (default “normal payment”), which is quite a lot of manual work for me then to enter everything after the upload.”

So, our team went to work to analyse the SEPA xml format for the Bunq B.V. Bank, we also compared SEPA xml files that includes the correct the reference code and developed a solution for the customer.

So, essentially we added the payment type column into the mass upload CSV file and also if there is nothing added or entered into the field then the default Normal Payment becomes the default payment type for new uploaded or created customers.

And then over to the customer to test within the Bunq B.V. Banking Back End:

“Works perfectly, thank you!

Happy to continue using the service with this now solved. Please will you send through an invoice with payment details for 2025”
